The scene

It is Wednesday, 9:40 at night, night shift in Perry's Awesomeness Factory, Building B. Buildings A and C are closed, and Dana Scully is on call at home. The night operator making rounds smells ammonia at pump P-201, just outside the T-2 dike in the ammonia storage area. P-201 is feeding Polyjuice Base, 25% ammonia solution, to the Brilliance line, which is running a batch. There is a wet patch about 3 feet across under the pump, and the pump seal is dripping about once a second into the gravel. The operator radios the control room, and AD-2 goes into alarm at 25 ppm at about the same time. It is 61 degrees, clear and dark, with calm to light and variable wind.
