The scene
It is Monday, 7:20 in the morning, day shift in Perry's Awesomeness Factory, Building B. On the Awesomeness line, a forklift driver is bringing in a fourth tote of 50% sodium hydroxide while an operator guides him. The forks go into the side of a full 275-gallon tote that is already in place. Caustic is pouring out around the forks, about halfway up the tote. About 60 gallons are on the floor, spreading out into the main aisle around the forklift. The forklift is still there with its forks in the tote. The operator who was guiding the forklift was splashed on the forearm and the side of his face shield, and he has gone to the safety shower. Malcolm Reynolds has been told by radio. Outside it is 48 degrees and overcast, with the wind from the northwest at 10 miles an hour.
