This course fulfills the initial or annual training compliance requirements set forth in 49 CFR 173.704(c).
Class Objective
This course will provide students with an understanding of what defines hazardous materials and how to prepare and manage hazardous materials shipments for ground transportation.
Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this class. Upon successful completion, students will have satisfied their initial or tri-annual (every three years) refresher requirements.
Who needs this training?
Any person classified as a “hazmat” employee must receive hazardous materials training. This includes anyone who’s who impacts the safe transportation of hazardous materials. Job duties may include preparing, loading, unloading, offering hazardous materials for transportation, or driving vehicles carrying hazardous materials. Initial training must occur within 90 days if hire date, with refresher training at least every 3 years.
