RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Training
This training provides students with the knowledge needed to identify wastes and properly manage them in accordance with EPA regulations in 40 CFR 262.17(a)(7).
Class Objective
This course will provide students with an understanding of RCRA and the safe handling, storage and disposal of Hazardous waste.
Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this class. Upon successful completion, students will have satisfied their annual refresher requirements.
Who needs this training?
Personnel whose responsibilities involve handling hazardous waste at facilities that generate, store, treat or dispose of hazardous waste must be trained. This includes Large Quantity Generators (LQGs), Small Quantity Generators (SQGs), and Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs). Initial training must occur within the first 6 months of employment. Annual refresher training is required per [40 CFR 262.17(a)(7)]. While training is not explicitly required for Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQGs), we encourage training to help ensure personnel are familiar with regulations and proper handling procedures.
