Overhead Crane Safety

This course satisfies training requirements under 29 CFR 1910.179 (Overhead and Gantry Cranes) for general industry. It is not intended for construction industry applications under 1926 standards. Participants will gain essential knowledge of overhead crane types, common hazards, safe operating practices, and inspection procedures. Each participant must pass an instructor-led evaluation on applicable equipment to receive certification. Retraining is required when unsafe operation is observed, after an incident, or when equipment or job duties change.
