8-Hour HAZWOPER Operations Level/Awareness/Refresher Training
This course fulfills the initial or annual training compliance requirements set forth in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(ii).
Class Objective
This training is mandated annually by OSHA under the HAZWOPER standard (29 CFR 1910.120(e)) to ensure workers remain up to date on the safety practices, procedures, and regulations involved in hazardous waste operations and emergency response.
Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this class. Upon successful completion, students will have satisfied their annual refresher requirements. This course also satisfies the Awareness level training requirements for individuals who may encounter hazardous substances in their work, but are not expected to actively respond to hazardous materials incidents.
Who needs this training?
The 8-Hour HAZWOPER training is required as a yearly refresher for individuals who have already completed the initial 24-hour or 40-hour HAZWOPER training and need to maintain their certification. This course also satisfies the Awareness level training requirements.

After completing training, will I be able to respond to a hazardous material spill at my company? It depends on your overall level of training. If you are taking this course as an annual refresher for previous 240hour or 40-hour training, then you will have the advanced knowledge needed to respond to a hazardous materials release. If you are taking this course at the awareness level you will have limited knowledge and ability to respond to a hazardous materials release.
